McDonald's worker drops everything, feeds elderly man

CHICAGO - A touching photo taken inside a downtown Chicago McDonald's is going viral. The photo shows an employee going above and beyond for an elderly customer.

Destiny Carreno shared the photo to Facebook earlier this month, after she said it brought tears to her eyes.

Carreno says she stopped at McDonald's after work, and noticed an elderly man in a wheelchair order food in front of her.

"From what I perceived, the gentleman may have had a case of quadriplegia, the same medical condition my uncle has," wrote Carreno.

The man politely tried to ask the cashier something in a weak voice. It took several tries before the cashier, named Kenny, and Carreno finally realized the man was asking for help to cut and eat his meal.

"To be honest, I thought the cashier wasn't going to help, especially during rush hour in downtown Chicago," wrote Cerreno. "But to my shock, he shut down his register and disappeared from view."

Kenny washed his hands and put on a pair of gloves, getting ready to help the man.

"The cashier came out from the kitchen, sat down, and began cutting the man's meal and helped him eat it," wrote Carreno.

She teared up when she thought about the elderly man and her own uncle.

"At that point, the tears started to gather in my eyes. My heart was so appreciative for what he did. I couldn't contain my emotions in the crowded restaurant," wrote Carreno.

She said she was inspired by Kenny's unconditional kindness.

"This employee, who put everything on hold for this man, went above and beyond his responsibilities to help this handicapped customer out. That was the kindest and most humble thing I had ever seen," she wrote.

Seeing this today brought tears to my eyes! Compassion has NOT gone out of style.Today I made a quick stop at McDonald...
