DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A mother says her son went out with friends then returned home, where someone shot and killed him as he sat in his car in his driveway.

Now Michelle Williams is asking for the public’s help finding her son’s killer.

Williams told Channel 2’s Tom Jones on Channel 2 Action News at 6:00 p.m. that her son’s death is tearing her up.

“I don’t know if I’m going to make it through this but I’m gonna try,” she said.

Williams can’t believe her son, 46-year-old Allen Greene, is gone. She was 16-year’s-old when she had him. They had an unbreakable bond.

“He’s my first born. I always tell him we gonna ride and die together,” Williams said.

DeKalb County police say someone shot and killed Greene as he sat inside his black Cadillac in his driveway on Clanton Terrace Aug. 15 around midnight.

Williams says the shooter remains on the loose.

“And nobody’s called to come forward or anything. So just trying to get some justice for what has happened,” she said.

Williams says her son was an accountant who worked remotely for the VA hospital in Tampa. But he lived here in the metro Atlanta.

Police say they responded to a shots fired call that night.

“The neighbor was the one who called in the 911. Because of the gunshots,” Williams explained.

But that neighbor didn’t see anything. Or anyone, she says.

The incident report says Greene’s roommate was detained and placed in the back of a patrol car that night.

Williams says police don’t consider the roommate a suspect.

“They said they took him in and they interrogated him. They talked to him and everything so they don’t think it was him,” she said.

Williams wants anyone who even thinks they know what happened to call police.

“Even if they don’t think they know something just call 911. Because you never know. What you don’t know might be it,” she said.

DeKalb County police told Jones they have not made an arrest and this is an active investigation.

They’re asking anyone with any information to contact them. They say you can send an anonymous tip through the free DeKalb County PD app or by texting DKPD or 847411 followed by the tip.

Greene’s family says he had lots of friends and wasn’t the type of person that attracted negative attention.

They really want his killer off the streets.
