Police later charged Keith with concealing Messiah’s death and making false statements. Police say they believe the child had been dead for “a considerable amount of time” before Keith called 911.

Keith’s charges were upgraded on Friday, according to Cobb County court records. Keith has been indicted on malice murder, three counts of felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and two counts of cruelty to children in first degree.

Keith remains in the Cobb County jail.

Messiah would have turned three years old in a few weeks.
