SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — East Point Police are investigating a suspicious hotel pool party death.

Henry Lee, 21, of Arkansas died.

His friends told Channel 2’s Erica Byfield he was in town for Labor Day weekend to celebrate Black Gay Pride weekend in Atlanta.

According to a police report, partygoers pulled an unresponsive Lee from the pool at Holiday Inn and Suites on Virginia Avenue on Aug. 30 around 9 p.m.

Emergency responders rushed Lee to the hospital. He died a few days later.

Detectives are investigating whether someone slipped something into Lee's drink.

A representative from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said the agency is awaiting toxicity results before they can rule on a cause of death.

That information should be available in two to three weeks.

Byfield found hotel officials are sorting through their own investigation.

The hotel's general manager would not get into specifics but said like everyone else, they want to know why Lee drowned.
