CAROLLTON, Ga. — A Carrollton man has been arrested after police received a CyberTip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation alleging he possessed material depicting a child engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The Carrollton Police Department said it received the CyberTip on July 22, prompting an investigation by a detective trained through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) program.
CyberTip is the nation’s centralized reporting system for the online exploitation of children.
The following day police arrested 52-year-old Alfred “Lee” Alloway.
Alloway is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of children. He remains in the Carroll County Jail, according to police.
During the investigation, detectives seized digital devices that are now being examined by a certified digital forensics examiner at the Carrollton Police Department’s Digital Forensics Lab.
The Carrollton Police Department is an affiliate agency of the GBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a network of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies that investigates technology-facilitated crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children.
Police said its detectives receive specialized training and resources through the program to investigate these cases, recover digital evidence and identify offenders.
Police said the investigation remains active and additional charges are possible depending on the results of the forensic examination.
