Crews will have Fairburn Road closed to all but local traffic from Benjamin E. Mays Drive to Cascade Road. The posted detour takes traffic inside the perimeter over Interstate 285 to Lindhurst Drive to get north and south.

South Fulton Mayor Carmalita Gumbs met with neighbors and business owners on Friday to hear their concerns and answer questions.

“I do know with this particular corridor and construction on 285, it will challenge your patience. I was sitting in the traffic just last weekend, so I understand. But ask that you be patient with us,” Gumbs said.

The City of South Fulton scheduled the work to begin Monday. But the city’s public works director said it would likely get pushed back to another morning this week.
