Lanes reopened on I-20 at MLK after police chase ends in crash

ATLANTA — All lanes have been reopened on Interstate 20 westbound at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive following a police chase that ended in a crash.

News Chopper 2’s Jason Durden flew over the scene in southwest Atlanta at about 5 p.m. Traffic was backed up to the Downtown Connector.

He said the chase started a couple exits away on I-20 at McDaniel Street. A Georgia State trooper tried to pull over a Dodge Charger for reckless driving before it took off and hit a silver Nissan Rogue, flipping the vehicle over.

The two victims inside the Nissan were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Authorities are in the area looking for the driver of the Charger who ran off.
