ATLANTA — The Lovett School was evacuated Monday morning after a fire was reported at the school.
The Atlanta Fire Department said they were called to the scene after someone reported seeing heavy smoke on the backside of the building.
Crews found a small fire in the school’s kitchen area that they were able to extinguish.

All students were evacuated and accounted for before the fire department got there.
School officials said the fire was in the lower school, and caused the sprinkler system to go off. All students and faculty there have been relocated to the Hendrix-Chenault Theater. Lower school students will be dismissed early.
There is still a heavy fire department presence at the scene as investigators try to determine what caused the fire.
“As we keep our sole focus on our students, please refrain from calling or emailing the Lower School at this time. We will update families regarding the fire later today,” officials said.
