ATLANTA — Ray Carter, vice president and general manager for WSB-TV Channel 2, announced Monday that Lori Wilson will join Fred Blankenship, Linda Stouffer, Brian Monahan, Mark Arum, and Heather Catlin on Channel 2 Action News This Morning 4:30 to 7 a.m. starting Tuesday, April 27th, 2021.

“It takes a special person to join the Channel 2 Action News morning team,” said Carter. “They must demonstrate two key qualities: a commitment to journalistic excellence and our community and the ability to connect with our viewers as the news cycle constantly changes.”

“Lori brings those qualities every day,” added News Director Suzanne Nadell. “As the station’s weekend anchor at 6 and 11 p.m. and reporting during the week, she has demonstrated the ability to tell high caliber stories that are important to our local communities.”

“I’m excited to help people wake up and prepare for the day ahead,” said Wilson. “It’s important for me to put stories into perspective for our viewers and give them context on why it matters to them. Getting to do that with a team of people I respect and truly enjoy, is what I consider a bonus.”

After 10-years on the anchor desk, Linda Stouffer has decided to step away from the daily anchor chair. Stouffer will continue to be an important member of this team and will keep viewers informed as a daily contributor on Channel 2 Action News This Morning and Channel 2 Action News at 4, 5, and 6 p.m.

“What a joy it’s been waking up with Atlanta every day,” said Stouffer. “Like a lot of people, I did some re-evaluating in the pandemic and decided that I need a little more sleep, and a schedule that lines up with the people I love. But I’m thrilled to say, I’m not going anywhere! This change allows me to work with our incredible morning team on important stories in a new way. I can’t wait to watch Lori, Fred and the team in the mornings and I’m also excited to pop up more often in the afternoon newscasts.”

“When Linda came to us about making a change, we fully supported her,” Carter added. “We’re excited to watch Linda continue to keep viewers updated as a critical member of the morning team and Channel 2 Action News.”
