HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A Henry County restaurant has failed its health inspection three times in four months.

Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge discovered that some of the violations at Huge Hibachi Sushi Buffet in Stockbridge were repeat violations.

Channel 2 first reported on the restaurant in October when it received a score of 28 out of 100. That is the lowest score ever reported by Channel 2.

Upon reinspection, the restaurant failed again with a 67. In November, Huge Hibachi Sushi Buffet passed with a 77, but on Feb. 18, the restaurant failed a third time with a 51.

“I’m like, ‘Wow.’ I did not know that the scores were that low,” said one customer.

This time, violations included:

  • Some foods not held at 135 degrees or higher for hot holding on the buffet
  • Employee bathroom toilet heavily soiled
  • Observed raw chicken stored in close proximity to raw fish

In Thursday’s failing inspection report, the inspector noted that in the exit interview, the new manager accused the inspector of being rude and uncompromising and not giving the restaurant a fair chance.

Sbarge visited the restaurant, and found that it was open. A worker there said that one day after the latest failing inspection, the restaurant was reinspected. It received a score of 76.

Scores of 70 and above are considered passing.
