Forsyth County man wins $7 million on scratch-off ticket

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A local man is a multi-millionaire after playing a scratch-off lottery game.

The owner of the store where the man bought the winning ticket told Channel 2 Action News he’s excited about the win.

“I'm very glad someone from my store won the lottery. Last time we had a big winner also for Fantasy Five,” said Sam Budhani.

Leon’s Food Mart in Cumming is known for its milkshakes, but now Budhani hopes it'll be known for selling winning tickets.

Georgia lottery officials say a Dawsonville man bought the “Max the Money" scratch-off ticket at the store on Matt Highway.

The ticket cost $30, but it was worth it. The man won the top prize of $7 million dollars.

This winning ticket has others optimistic they could win money too.

Budhani says the winner is a regular, and buys lottery tickets a few times a week.

He also says the man started crying when he realized he won.

Lottery officials say the odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 2.4 million.
