Late night storms bring down trees, knock out power to homes

ATLANTA — Power crews are working to get the lights back on for hundreds across metro Atlanta after late night storms moved through.

Channel 2’s Steve Gehlbach found trees blocking several roads around Atlanta on Tuesday morning. One of the largest outages is along Browns Mill Road in southeast Atlanta. It could be hours before power is back on and the road reopens.

As of 4:30 a.m. Georgia Power’s outage map shows the most power outages in Fulton County with around 600 customers without power.

Georgia EMC’s outage map shows at least 2,100 customers without power in metro Atlanta and another 1,400 customers without power in its north and northeast counties.
