COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Kennesaw State University officials are warning students about a reported sexual assault at KSU housing.
KSU students received an email Sunday morning about the reported sexual assault that happened at KSU Place on Idlewood Avenue in Kennesaw on KSU’s campus.
The email states in part:
REPORTED OFFENSE: Reported Rape/Sexual Assault, constituting a Forcible Sexual Offense, was reported to have occurred May 1, 2015. This incident is reported to have occurred at KSU Place.
SUSPECTS: Suspect is a KSU student, male, approximately 6’0”, brown hair
The victim, a KSU student, reported sometime between Thursday, April 30, 2015 into Friday, May 1, 2015 that the suspect drove the victim from a party to the victim’s apartment where the sexual assault occurred.
It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible “dangerous conditions” on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn persons associated with this University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
“It makes me nervous, never really thought about it on this campus, always been safe,” said Breanna Robertson, a student.
“It’s a little bit disturbing, but then again it is also a college campus. You got to take care of yourself as girl,” said Achsah Okeke, another student.
KSU says the investigation into the alleged incident is ongoing.
