TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — A college student from metro Atlanta is one of three Alabama university students shown being arrested in a viral video that has sparked a nationwide controversy.

Three Tuscaloosa police officers have been placed on leave while the arrests are investigated.

One student is from Johns Creek, and he and two of his friends face obstruction charges.

In cellphone video, you can see a Tuscaloosa police officer pull a University of Alabama student from an apartment.

The officer goes back in the apartment to grab a screaming woman and another man while more officers swarm to the scene.

The now-viral video was uploaded to YouTube and the three students arrested are facing charges.

The second man who police arrested has been identified as Matthew Macia, 22, from Johns Creek.

The whole incident started because police were called to the student housing complex for a loud music complaint.

Tensions appear to rise from the beginning of the video.

One person tries to even close the door on the responding officer.

From another angle, you can see the methods police used to take the students into custody.

Students at the University of Alabama say the police simply went too far.

We've learned at least one student is getting legal advice on how to move forward.

Please share this. This is not ok. Congratulations Tuscaloosa Police Department. You do your job great. What a joke. All of this for a noise complaint. Glad someone was smart enough to record this.
