ATLANTA — For the first time since losing his wife, a husband is opening up about his grief after Atlanta police say his high school sweetheart was shot and killed on her way home from work.
Beverly Jenkins worked at the City of Refuge as a resident service specialist, working with women and children dealing with homelessness, helping them with resumes, jobs and transitional housing.
Jenkins was shot and killed earlier this month. According to authorities, she was shot in the head.
Surveillance video shows four men walking down Westview Drive minutes before Beverly Jenkins was killed. Detectives are trying to find out who they are and question them to see if they know anything about what happened but police clarified they’re not considered suspects in the case.

“It’s one of those things you could never prepare for. My life has been dimmer since she's been gone," Patrick Jenkins said.
