Dozens of used police vehicles, dump trucks, office and lawn equipment and other odds and ends are expected to bring in several hundred thousand dollars on Saturday.
"Most of it is cars, trucks, equipment and all sorts of tools that we've used and we're offering them to the public at a good price," Forsyth County Fleet Service Manager Avery Gravitt said.
Also on the list are scooters, chain saws, flood lamps, and old punch card voting machines.
Channel 2's Tom Regan was able to see the items in Cumming on Friday.
Many of those on hand for a preview spent time inspecting the cars and trucks available.
"I'm basically looking for something that is easy to use and basically a daily driver for me," potential bidder Natasha Siso said.
Auction officials said there are 30 Dodge Charger police cars in the auction. The average auction sales price for the vehicle will be $2,000 to $3,000.
There are about a dozen used school buses available as well.
"Surprisingly the buses are one of our greatest attractions. Churches and municipalities are interested in them. Even deer hunters come in and turn them into campers," Gravitt said.
[ The auction starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday at 843 Canton Highway in Cumming. ]
