ATLANTA — The eighth-largest jackpot in Powerball history will be up for grabs on Wednesday night. The jackpot has reached $1 billion with a $433.1 million cash option.

POWERBALL
Georgia Lottery didn’t start offering Powerball tickets until Jan. 31, 2010. But since then, there have been at least five Powerball jackpot winners in Georgia.

MEGA MILLIONS
The Georgia Lottery started selling “The Big Game” tickets when the national lottery game started in 1996. The jackpot was later rebranded as “Mega Millions” in 2002.
