HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Henry County Police are trying to find a group of men and a woman targeting neighbor’s cars while pointing a gun at the front door.

Police told Channel 2’s Craig Lucie that the surveillance video showing the crime is a great reminder for everyone to never confront burglars and wait for law enforcement to arrive.

“It was scary! My reaction was, I thought about my children and the harm to them and my grandkids,” said Rita Cross.

Rita Cross says her entire family was sleeping inside, but her two daughters were up watching a movie.

In the video, you can see one young man come running toward Rita Cross’ home waving a gun. He walks toward their front door and then backs up.

“I was thinking if one had gone up and came to the door and looked through the window, I can’t imagine what would’ve happened to them,” said Cross.

At one point, one of the car burglars runs into the young man holding the gun.

“It’s an evolution of entering autos we see where some individuals are getting bolder, and they are getting younger as well,” said Joey Smith, of the Henry County Police Department.

A week before the crime at the Cross home, police say there were more car break-ins across the street at a neighboring subdivision so now they are trying to connect the two.

“There were three or four car burglaries that happened a week prior and one firearm was stolen. It could be connected. We just don’t know right now,” said Smith.

“They are babies, and why are they doing this?” Cross said.

The Cross family says the criminals didn’t get away with much because most of the car doors were locked.

Henry County Police say we can all learn from this frightening video.

“It shows you even criminals are prepared to deal with whatever they encounter when they enter someone’s home.

If you recognize any of the people in the video, call the Henry County Police Department.
