HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — When police arrested a local DJ on a child molestation charge, several more children came forward and now he's facing more charges.

Malcolm Rhodes worked at a Henry County skating rink. The owner of the business told Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes that she is devastated to know that someone who used to work for her is accused of such inappropriate things.

Her attorney told her not to comment on anything more with the case.

Parents, on the other hand, told Fernandes they want Rhodes to be held accountable if he's in fact guilty.

A grand jury indicted Rhodes on eight new charges, including child molestation and sexual battery on boys under the age of 16.

The indictment disturbed many parents because for years Rhodes had been working closely with children as a DJ in schools, skating rinks and churches in Henry, Coweta and Fayette counties.

One father, who asked not be identified, told Fernandes that his kids have been around Rhodes at several school events.

“Usually there’s a parent with him, so in that aspect I feel confident about my kid. But you know, it’s just shameful,” the father said.

He said he’s never seen any inappropriate behavior from Rhodes, but he’s honest with his kids about being aware of child predators in general.

“It’s sad and shameful but we have to have these conversations,” the father said.

Fernandes also spoke with a 10-year-old who has been around the DJ before. His father gave him permission to speak with Fernandes.

“Around here there’s not a lot of bad things happening but it’s like a lot of people act nice and then they turn around and do something very bad – so we got to stay safe and cautious,” the boy said.

Police told Fernandes they’re still investigating some other allegations against Rhodes and more charges could be coming.

Rhodes was denied bail and remains in jail.
