Bus hits stalled car on I-75; driver killed

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A driver was killed Sunday morning when a bus hit a stalled car on Interstate 75 in Henry County.

The crash was reported just before 4:30 a.m.

Henry County police said they received a call about a car stopped in the right-hand lane of I-75 northbound just before Exit 216.

Police received another call minutes later about an accident with injuries.

Police said the crash involved a gray 2009 Dodge Challenger and a bus from Tennessee that was pulling a trailer.

The bus was traveling in the right-hand lane of I-75 North when it came upon the stopped car.

The bus driver said he attempted to turn to the left, but was unable to avoid hit the car. The bus pushed the car to left, crossing all northbound lanes and stopping in the left-hand emergency lane.

The driver of the Challenger, identified as Javarius A. Exum, 22, of Milledgeville, was killed in the crash.

The bus driver had minor cuts to his hand. All of the people on the bus were safely evacuated.
