ATLANTA — It’s a messy morning commute across metro Atlanta and north Georgia as heavy rain from overnight has left roads wet, including areas of standing water.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says the steady rain will continue early in the morning commute but gradually taper to scattered showers after sunrise this morning.

After a brief break from the rain, Monahan says another system will bring more rain to the area later this week.
