SMYRNA, Ga. — Smyrna police have released new details on what led to a large police response in a neighborhood on Friday morning.
The department issued an alert for the public to avoid King Springs Road between Concord Road and Pinehurst Circle. They cleared the scene few hours later.

Police later confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that it was investigating a stabbing. Smyrna first responders received a 911 call around 8:40 a.m. from a neighbor heard loud screams at a house nearby.
Officers responded and found someone who had been stabbed and another person who barricaded themselves inside the home.
The person eventually came out. Police said someone was treated at the scene, but did not say what the victim’s condition was
