HALL COUNTY, Ga. — More boaters will be back on Lake Lanier with warmer days ahead.
There's now an effort underway to get people to wear life jackets after so many drownings each year.
The Lake Lanier Association will offer loaner life jackets. Visitors can borrow them at beaches and boat launches.

"God knows if it has saved a life or not. But what it 'has' done is certainly positive. It has made the beach and lake a safer place -- for children in particular," said John Barker, with Lake Lanier Association.
There are about two dozen life jacket stations at the lake.
