NORCROSS, Ga. — Gwinnett County police tell Channel 2 Action News they have arrested a mother after someone spotted her two children wandering alone in an apartment complex while she was nowhere to be found.

The caller told police neither child was wearing any clothes at the time.

Neighbors said they saw children in the parking lot of a Norcross area apartment complex on Colony Park Drive Sunday afternoon.

That neighbor said they covered the children up and immediately called 911.

"The children only knew their mother as 'Mom' and couldn't provide any contact information for her," said Cpl. Jake Smith with the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Smith said the children were 4 and 6 years old.

Smith said one of the officers on scene noticed a black SUV pull into the parking lot and then quickly leave. A short while later, the children's grandmother arrived at the apartment.

"Through the grandmother they got the mother to actually show up to the apartment. In the course of interviewing her, she said she had gone out to run errands," Smith said.

Police say when Myisha Blair, 26, initially saw the officers at her door, she got scared and left again in her SUV.
According to the arrest warrant, officers believe she was gone at least three hours.

Blair is charged with two counts of misdemeanor reckless conduct.

She bonded out of jail the following day. Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh went to Blair's apartment to give her an opportunity to respond to the charges, but got no response.

Police said the children are now under the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.
