SNELLVILLE, Ga. — One person is dead after a car wreck in Gwinnett County on Monday.

The crash happened around 11:50 a.m. at the intersection of North Road and Pinehurst Road.
According to Snellville police, witnesses said a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on Pinehurst Road when it ran a red light and collided with a 2009 Honda Civic traveling north on North Road.
The adult driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.

An adult passenger in the Honda suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Silverado was not injured.
The department’s Accident Investigation Unit and Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene, along with the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The ages and identities of the victim and passenger were not released. The investigation remains ongoing.
