GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Fire Rescue pulled a man from the bottom of Lake Lanier near Buford Dam Park Saturday afternoon.
Multiple agencies responded to reports of a drowning. Witnesses reported seeing an adult male in his 40s go under water, but never saw him resurface.
Officials say the man was swimming just past the designated yellow swimming line.

Crews found the man about 50-60 feet off the shore in water that was 8 feet deep.
Gwinnett County Fire Rescue reports the man was unresponsive and transported to a nearby hospital in critical/life-threatening condition.
Channel 2 Action News learned on Sunday morning that the man passed away.
