LILBURN, Ga. — The Lilburn community has raised over $15,000 for a young mother of four who died of COVID-19 earlier this month.
Rosa Saldaña, 43, died on August 14 after a three-week battle with the coronavirus. She was the mother of four children, including a Gwinnett County school teacher.

“For those who knew my mom know that she carried an immense amount of love and joy, one of the most purest souls,” Stephanie Dominguez wrote on a GoFundMe set up to cover her funeral expenses. “She leaves behind four kids, a husband, and many family and friends who adored her tremendously.”
Rosa Saldaña was born in Los Angeles and raised in Texas. Family said she loved to entertain and host family events.

“She always wanted to get her big porch finished because she wanted to have her family gathered together for events such as carne asadas, parties, karaoke, and loteria,” family members wrote. “Above all else, she had a loving and very forgiving and abundant heart.”

Her daughter, Stephanie Dominguez, teaches 5th grade within the Gwinnett County Public School system. She also has two sons and a daughter who just started high school.
“While her children were her pride and joy, what overflowed her heart was the love and passion for her husband, Andres,” family wrote. “They say every soul has a match, and he was hers.”
Donations to the family’s GoFundMe will go toward funeral, medical and household expenses.
