Bowlers go to AMF Snellville Lanes hoping to get strikes. While enjoying themselves, they might also grab a bite to eat.
But Channel 2's Carol Sbarge learned that on March 25, the kitchen that serves up food at the bowling alley failed a health inspection with a 54.
The two previous times AMF Snellville Lanes was inspected it received "A"s.
This time, it failed with problems including mold.
Violations include mold in the ice machine, can opener with old debris, drink nozzle gun in bar with mold, sanitizer in wiping cloth bucket at a toxic level, and food stored uncovered in the walk in freezer.
Sbarge also found the bowling alley didn't have its new score posted, which is a violation.
"(It's) because we had to send it to our corporate people. It's on the printer back there," a worker pointed out to Sbarge when she asked about it.
The manager of the bowling alley told Sbarge they have called in people to make repairs, and everything is being cleaned.
"What happened is we have a lot of maintenance issues that they got us on. It's really not the food aspect. More of the maintenance," the manager told Sbarge.
In their previous inspection, AMF Snellville got a perfect health inspection score of 100.
They say they'll be back up when the reinspection happens within days of the latest inspection.
"We're doing everything we can," the manager told Sbarge.
We will update you when the restaurant at the bowling alley is reinspected and tell you the new score.
