ATLANTA — Grady Health officials said some changes to how certain nursing hours are paid will change.
In a statement shared with Channel 2 Action News, the health system said temporary block pay for certain positions that was increased due to staffing challenges will be ending in about a month.
However, Grady administration emphasized that nurses’ base pay will not be reduced or decreased.

The company said “staff were informed at the time that this additional pay was temporary” when it first started.
Staff were given 30 days’ notice of the change.
“This adjustment comes as reductions in federal healthcare funding, including the expiration of enhanced federal subsidies, are creating significant financial pressures for health systems nationwide,” a Grady Health spokesperson said in a statement.
The company said they remain committed to providing their patients with high-quality care while also supporting their workforce.
