FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Roswell police say crystal clear surveillance video and GPS trackers on some stolen iPhones helped them arrest a pair of suspected burglars.

Police have charged Bobby Elgin and Curry Carter for breaking into a home on Old Riverside Road Saturday night to steal thousands of dollars in electronics.

Neighbor Ruth Keeley said she saw one of the men floating in the Chattahoochee River behind the house moments before the break-in.

"He was walking in the river up to my next door neighbor's house, and I said I won't say anything because maybe he's a friend of my neighbor's and he's staying there," she told Channel 2's Mike Petchenik.

Video surveillance shows the pair walking up to the house and Carter waving at the camera.

Police told Petchenik the pair kicked in a door, stole televisions, phones, jewelry and other items.

Before the men took off, police said one of them defecated on a Mercedes truck parked in the driveway.

Once on the road, police said items fell off the poorly packed pickup truck.

Jeff Freemyer told Petchenik he hit an 80-inch television while driving on Riverside Drive.

"As I was moving the TV I noticed all of the cables were still connected," said Freemyer.  "They'd clearly been cut versus disconnected, so that made me suspicious."

Freemyer said he called police to report he'd come upon stolen property.

Meantime, Officer Zachary Frommer said police were tracking Elgin and Carter using the signal from stolen cell phones.

"We got some really great pictures of the suspects and that, combined with a number of other leads, we were able to track them down pretty quickly," Frommer said.

Both men are in the Fulton County jail facing burglary charges.
