Gov. Brian Kemp and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee make wager ahead of UGA-Tennessee football game

ATHENS — In addition to maintaining their undefeated seasons and building up a case for a berth in the College Football Playoff, the Georgia vs. Tennessee football game in Athens will have an additional thing on the line: a friendly wager between governors.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee agreed to a friendly wager on which state’s namesake university wins the game.

Kemp put up some Georgia Grown pecans, onions and some Georgia-made bourbon. Lee put up a package including ribs from Tennessee and some Jack Daniels Tennessee whiskey.

No. 1 Tennessee will visit No. 3 and defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs in a game some fans are calling the “Game of the Century.”

Tickets for the game are extremely desired, with the cheapest tickets to get in costing upward of $500 for the cheapest seats on secondary markets.

The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. at Sanford Stadium and is expected to be played in a raucous environment.
