LAWRENCEVILLE — The Georgia Department of Transportation has replaced the misspelled sign for Georgia Gwinnett College on Highway 316.
Georgia DOT tweeted a photo of GGC President Stas Preczewski with the corrected sign Tuesday afternoon.
Previously the sign was missing an "n" in "Gwinett."
The DOT, which just spent $52.7 million on the new Collins Hill Bridge on Highway 316, said the misspelling was a human error and was handled by a contractor.
Observant motorists noticed the mistake before any DOT or college officials picked up on it.
