TATTNALL COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia high school head football coach resigned from his position after being suspended earlier in the week.
According to the Tattnall County Board of Education, Coach Pat Collins was involved in an “incident” at football practice on Monday afternoon.
They did not comment on what type of incident occurred.

After learning about what happened, Tattnall County High School and district administrators began investigating and placed Collins on indefinite suspension.
On Wednesday, Collins gave a formal apology to the team.

On Friday morning, the school board says he chose to resign from his position.
“We recognize that incidents such as this can have a significant impact on our students, families, staff, and the broader community. The district remains committed to handling matters such as this with fairness, integrity, and appropriate accountability, while upholding the standards of respect and dignity we expect throughout our school system,” the district wrote in a statement.
