With schools closing over the coronavirus, parents will be looking for different ways to keep entertain the kids over the next couple of weeks.
A few Georgia attractions are helping parents out, even if families can’t visit them in person.
The aquarium has web cameras with several different views of aquatic life from its exhibits, including beluga whales, otters, sea lions, penguins and Ocean Voyager tank.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History is providing “virtual destinations" while their museum is closed. They are providing educational and entertaining content for those to enjoy from home, including educational videos, fun facts, behind-the-scenes photos, quizzes and more. You can show how you are “Museuming at Home” by tagging them @fernbankmuseum and using #MuseumAtHome.
The Georgia Aquarium and Center for Pupperty Arts have set up digital learning for kids to enjoy from home.
Meanwhile, the Center for Puppetry Arts will offer workshops and virtual museum tours along with the puppet shows it puts on every day for children in Atlanta. A schedule of events is posted on the center’s website.

Captain Mike’s Dolphin Tours on Tybee Island will stream their tours at 2 p.m. on Facebook Live.
The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is posting daily at-home activities for kids to do. Check their Facebook page daily for updates.
At least one attraction will be open in north Georgia. The North Georgia Zoo will be open by reservation only to groups of 10 or less people. In the meantime, the zoo began hosting Wildlife Wonders at 1:00 p,m. Mondays-Fridays via Facebook LIVE. Educational program presenters offer an up-close look at some of the zoo’s most interesting animals, and followers can learn all about them - where they live, what they eat, funny behaviors and more.
You can reserve a Wildlife Walk (tour exotic animals), the Petting Zoo (30-40 baby animals in the Petting Zoo as of now), or a Hands-On Animal Experience (Wolf Experience, Otter Experience, Fennec Fox Experience). Tours will be limited to 20 people, animal experiences limited to 10. Again, you must click here to make your reservation.
The High Museum of Art offers a ton of free resources to teachers or parents at home with kids for things to do at home.
