Georgia gas prices are continuing to rise. AAA officials say ongoing conflict in the Middle East has added pressure to global oil markets, contributing to the increase.
The average price for regular gas in Georgia is now $3.81 per gallon, which is subject to change overnight.

“As uncertainty in global energy markets continues, drivers can expect fuel prices to remain sensitive to developments overseas,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “To help offset higher fuel costs, drivers can save money by combining errands into one trip, avoiding aggressive driving, and using the AAA Mobile App to find the lowest gas prices in their area.”

Currently drivers are seeing gas 2 cents higher than last week, 2 cents lower than last month, and 92 cents higher than last year.
For those filling up a standard 15-gallon tank of regular gas, the cost is approximately $57.15.
According to AAS, despite softer seasonal demand, elevated crude oil prices above $80 per barrel, fueled by ongoing uncertainty near the Strait of Hormuz, continue to keep pressure on pump prices. As a result, August is on track to be the most expensive August on record for U.S. drivers.
