FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — An elderly couple is dead after their car was involved in a crash in South Fulton County, according to police.
Police said the crash, which involved two vehicles, occurred at the intersection of Jonesboro Road and Bethsaida Road.

The victims, Leon Watson, 82, and Christine Watson, 79, were married.

South Fulton Police conducted a traffic enforcement in Jonesboro Road and Old National Highway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. because of a rise in serious injuries in those areas.
Officials say they issued 20 citations on Jonesboro Road ranging from speeding to seatbelt violations.

“We offer the families of Mr. Leon and Mrs. Christine Watson our most sincere condolences, both of whom died from their injuries yesterday at the Jonesboro Rd at Bethsaida Rd traffic accident,” police said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
