FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia high school came together to honor their fallen principal Friday night.

Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was at Westlake High School, where it was an emotional night both on and off the field.

Students and teachers came together for a football game -- but also to pay tribute to beloved principal Jamar Robinson.

Robinson and his wife died Sunday while vacationing in Puerto Rico. Investigators think that AnnMarie Robinson, a professor at Georgia State University, went underwater and her husband tried to save her.

In a touching pre-game tribute, the team placed blue and pink wreaths on the sidelines and took a knee on the field.

The head football coach wore a full suit on the field in honor of Principal Robinson, who always dressed up for games.

Athletic Director Carl Green was extremely close to Jamar Robinson, saying that he considered him family.

“Robinson is more like a brother.”

Green said Robinson was an accomplished educator and a natural-born leader who led by example and always cheered for his student’s accomplishments on and off the field.

“If you had an event athletically on Friday night , he would be there,” Robinson said. " And if you had an academic event Saturday he would be there. He loved the community. He loved the kids and loved the school."

Westlake won the game 51 - 0.
