FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The College Park Fire Department battled a fire at townhomes that displaced multiple residents, fire chief Wade Elmore said.

Officials said the fire broke out just before midnight at the Wellington Townhomes, causing heavy fire damage to a free standing building, Elmore said.
Residents were removed from the building with no injuries and the Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced by the fire.

The number of those who were displaced is unknown and the fire extinguished, other than hot spots, according to Elmore said.
Elmore said the investigation is ongoing.
