FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A closure on Interstate 285 in southwest Fulton County was postponed, rather than starting on Friday.
Originally, the Georgia Department of Transportation planned to shut down I-285 between Cascade Road and Langford Parkway on Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

However, GDOT said inclement weather is expected this weekend, so the work and full lane closures in that section of the interstate were pushed back.

When the closures do happen, after a new schedule is set, work crews will be reconstructing and rehabilitating concrete slabs along the westside of the I-285 corridor in that section.
It’s part of a larger project, the I-285 Westside Rebuild, a $206 million project.
A new closure date has not yet been decided for this phase of work.
