26 rescued dogs up for adoption Saturday

The dogs, 12 puppies and 14 adults, are Chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier mixes.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Twenty-six dogs rescued from a home in Forsyth County in February are available for adoption starting Saturday at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter.

All 26 dogs are Chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier mixes. Twelve are puppies and 14 are adults. %

The dogs have been at the shelter since they were taken from the home on Franklin Goldmine Road. A court order on March 24 allowed the shelter to begin the process of preparing the animals for adoption.

“The dogs have been seen by a veterinarian and are all doing well,” said Forsyth County Animal Shelter Manager Jeanie Curphey. “We look forward to finding each of them a forever home.”

All of the dogs have been spayed and neutered and have received their rabies vaccine. They will each be microchipped upon adoption. %

“Three of the dogs removed from the residence will be available for adoption at a later date  –  two who are timid and need some extra time working with shelter staff and one who recently gave birth to puppies,” said Curphey.

Adoption fees are $85 per animal.

The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is located just off of GA 400 at 4065 County Way in northern Forsyth County. It opens Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
