ATLANTA — Georgia’s average gas price is $4.09 a gallon and AAA Georgia said drivers still don’t have a clear sign of when meaningful relief may arrive.
That average is 8 cents higher than last week, 27 cents higher than last month and $1.18 higher than last year.
A standard 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline now costs about $61.35.

“Georgia drivers are continuing to feel the strain of higher fuel costs, with pump prices holding above $4 a gallon, taking a significant bite out of household budgets,” Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group, said.
“Until market conditions improve, drivers should expect ongoing volatility and look for ways to stretch their fuel dollars, such as combining errands, reducing unnecessary trips and using fuel-saving driving habits,” Waiters said.
AAA Georgia said Atlanta’s average price is $4.07 a gallon.
The most expensive metro markets in Georgia are Savannah at $4.17, Augusta-Aiken at $4.13 and Macon at $4.12.
The least expensive metro markets in Georgia are Athens at $4.05, Warner Robins at $4.03 and Valdosta at $4.01.

Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of regular gas rose 16 cents from last week to $4.47, according to AAA Georgia.
AAA Georgia said crude oil prices averaged about $100 per barrel and continue to push fuel costs higher. The group said the national average is nearing this year’s high of $4.56 a gallon, reached on May 21.
AAA Georgia said the national record remains $5.01 a gallon, set on June 14, 2022.
