FedEx shooting victim in medically-induced coma

ATLANTA — The security guard shot last year during a rampage at a Cobb County FedEx plant is now in a medically-induced coma following his latest surgery.

Christopher Sparkman is having complications following his 26th surgery after the shooting incident.

The 19-year-old gunman, Geddy Kramer, shot Sparkman at the start of an April 29 attack. Kramer wounded six people before killing himself.

In a blog post by Sparkman's wife Jamie Lynn wrote:  "Christopher is headed back into the OR for an emergency surgery due to complications."

A short time later she wrote, "Chris remains in a medically induced coma until further notice. Mentally, he can't take much more. We need your prayers."
