ATLANTA — A north Georgia family who lost everything in a fire is finding a way to help children who are less fortunate this holiday season.
Fire destroyed the Delaney family's home in October and they lost everything.
The family has six adopted children with special medical needs and they soon found themselves without a home, medical supplies, clothes and toys.
Now, just in time for Christmas, the Delaneys are giving back through Clark Howard's Christmas Kids.
News of their misfortune sparked a huge response from generous Georgians who overwhelmed them with gifts.
Clark's Christmas Kids program makes toy donations to Georgia children in need, like the Delaney children before they were adopted.
The Delaneys decided they'll urge the people who want to help them to help other children through Clark's holiday program.
"It's so important that every child feel important and wonderful at Christmas and thanks to Christmas Kids, my children did, that really comforted me as an adoptive parent," mother Amy Delaney said.
"What's untold are all the people who have such big hearts and open up their hearts and homes to other people and I hope that people are inspired this Christmas season in whatever that's appropriate for you, to make a difference for others," Clark Howard told Channel 2's Linda Stouffer.
"Help everybody get presents and have a good time at Christmas," Logan Delaney said.
