Facebook to launch 'dislike' button

SAN FRANCISCO — Finally! Facebook is answering the prayers of many users and working on a "dislike" button.

Founder Mark Zuckerberg made the remark during a townhall meeting at Facebook's California headquarters, according to Business Insider.

Zuckerberg said Facebook initially resisted the option because the social media network didn't want  to become a Reddit-style of upvoting and downvoting. But, Zuckerberg later realized people are just looking for an option to express feelings other than "like."

Business Insider reports Zuckerberg cited posts with news about the recent refugee crisis or about family members who have died.

He said Facebook has been working on the "dislike" button for a while and hopes to launch it soon.
