ATLANTA — Channel 2 consumer adviser Clark Howard says it's easier than ever to buy name-brand fashions for much lower prices.
He suggests finding a clothing exchange on Facebook.
Titania Jordan agrees, and says she rarely pays full price for anything.
"There are a million exchanges on Facebook. Anything you need for your children or your life you should check a Facebook exchange for, because it is probably out there," Jordan said.
Exchanges aren't the only way to buy used items online. VarageSale is another option.
"Anything and everything is on VarageSale," said Andrea Marsh.
Varage Sale is an app that acts as a virtual garage sale.
"It's a great method of saving money," said Marsh.
Marsh said she uses it to buy and sell.
"It takes less than a couple minutes. All you do is take a picture of the item, you upload it on VarageSale, click the category, type in the item name, click on the price you want and post it," Marsh said.
Both VarageSale and Facebook exchanges allow you to deal with people in your area.
"You can kind of do your research on who these people are. It feels like Mayberry again with people leaving bags on their doorsteps. It's like a neighborhood again," Jordan said.
Marsh said the money she saves is put to good use.
"The money we save, we apply that towards a family vacation. It does add up. Even if it's $5 or $2, it does add up. The money we save, we put towards a family vacation," Marsh said.
