ATLANTA — Operations are back to normal at the Midtown MARTA station after two women were hit by a train, police said.
Police said 28-year-old Christopher Patrick Brooklin is in custody. One woman has been released from the hospital but the other is being treated in critical condition.
The North-South line of MARTA was shut down as police gathered information and spoke to witnesses.
“Everybody was shook up,” the man said.
A witness told Channel 2 Action News he saw a man push a woman onto the train tracks, when another woman tried to help her, both women were hit.
Channel 2 Action News saw paramedics wheeling away a woman on a stretcher.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday.

Aiesha Bowden was trembling when she explained what happened to Jaquez.
She said she and other riders jumped in to help but there was nothing we could do.
"We tried to pull them out the track. The train was coming to fast, it tried to stop but it couldn’t," she said.
The incident caused delays for the MARTA service.
MARTA provided a bus bridge between the Arts Center station and North Avenue station in Midtown.
