Driver saved after being trapped under overturned box truck, Georgia authorities say

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A driver was saved when crews rescued him from an overturned box truck Tuesday.

Douglas County officials said they received a report of an overturned tractor-trailer around 12:40 p.m. on North Burnt Hickory Road at Connally Trail, near the Paulding County border.

It is unclear as to what caused the crash.

When crews arrived at the scene, Douglas County firefighters discovered the large truck had flipped over and trapped the driver.

Officials said firefighters successfully extricated the driver, who was then airlifted to the hospital.

The identity of the driver has not been released.
