GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A driver was rushed to the hospital after his SUV crashed into a Taco Bell restaurant in Duluth.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. at the location on Pleasant Hill Road near Satellite Boulevard.

Ruby Williams was waiting at Satellite Boulevard when she says she saw the SUV speeding down Pleasant hill Road.

"Next thing I know he hit the curb, and all I heard was 'boom, boom' and it crashed," said Williams.

Two signs outside the restaurant were also damaged in the crash.

Channel 2’s Jessica Jaglois  spoke to a Taco Bell employee who says he was taking out the trash when he saw the SUV speeding down Pleasant Hill Road at about 70 mph.

“Next thing I know I heard tires braking. It was just ‘errr’ and right when he broke around this corner he couldn't gain control anymore. He hit the curb and right when he hit the curb that was it. He popped and he started barrel rolling,” said Joseph Lineberger.

Gwinnett Fire says the SUV flipped several times before coming to a rest at the front entrance of the restaurant.

Employees say this is the second time a car has slammed into this Taco Bell.

All lanes of Pleasant Hill Road are open.

The driver is expected to survive.

Police are still investigating the crash.
