A Clayton County High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after an altercation involving nearly a dozen students and a parent.

Clayton County school officials said 11 students and one parent were involved in the altercation, which began in the front office of Drew High School.

Officials said most of the people involved were transported to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not known.

Officials said parents were brought to the school to try to diffuse an ongoing problem with students. After one parent left, another incited the kids to fight, school officials said. She will likely be charged.

The school was locked down just after 11 a.m. for about an hour.
