DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A Douglas County Sheriff Office’s deputy was arrested on Tuesday and finds himself in the same jail he worked in.
Austin Cole Sluder, 27, is accused of sexually assaulting an inmate.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Sluder was assigned to work for the sheriff’s office at the Douglas County Jail.
The GBI said that the sheriff’s office asked it in October to investigate allegations of sexual assault by Sluder.
The GBI found that while working at the jail that Sluder had inappropriate sexual contact with a female inmate.

Sluder is being held in the Douglas County Jail on charges of improper sexual contact and violation of oath of office by a public officer.
